Redlands Community College Scholarship Information
Two Redlands Community College Center of Excellence Scholarships will be awarded to two qualified in-coming Freshman students enrolled full-time at Redlands Community College and working toward an Associate in Science Degree in Agriculture or Equine. Scholarships will not exceed $1,000 per semester for a maximum of four semesters. Continuation of scholarships is contingent upon continued funding through the Center of Excellence from teh Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and compliance with the Scholarship Recipient Responsibilities listed below.
Note: In order to be considered for the Redlands Community College Scholarship, applicants must indicate on the OYE Scholarship Application that they are planning to attend Redlands Community College. Recipients MUST attend Redlands Community College in order to receive their scholarship.
If a recipient does not attend Redlands Community College, he/she forfeits his/her scholarship, whether it be in full or a remaining balance.
Selection Criteria
- 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA: GPA must be documented by a high school transcript.
- Must fully complete the Oklahoma Youth Expo Scholarship Application and submit it to the OYE Office postmarked no later than the scholarship deadline of December 1, 2011.
Application Procedures
- Complete the Oklahoma Youth Expo Scholarship Application and each of its components (i.e. transcript, resume, essays, etc.)
- Must indicate that you plan to attend Redlands Community College on the scholarship application in order to be considered.
- Application must be submitted to the OYE Office postmarked no later than December 1, 2011.
Scholarship Recipient Responsibilities
- Maintain a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA.
- Continue in an academic agriculture program at Redlands Community College that will prepare the recipient for transfer to a college or university for a Baccalaureate Degree.
- Serve as a Redlands Community College Center of Excellence Ambassador:
- Host tours of the Center of Excellence Campus or other college locations as assigned.
- Represent the college and the program at off-campus events such as (but not limited to) Field Days, Conferences and Demonstrations related to agriculture education at Redlands Community College.
- Participate in at least one applied research project per year under the supervision of a college faculty member.
- Join college faculty or staff in a minimum of two high school recruitment events each year.
