Harley Custer Scholarship Information To honor a long-time supporter of the show program in Oklahoma and specifically the Oklahoma 4-H and FFA Junior Livestock Show, a scholarship has been developed to be awarded to either a 4-H or FFA member enrolled in an animal feeding program, as well as being an exhibitor at the current year's Stock Show in Oklahoma City. This scholarship will be designated as the HARLEY CUSTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP and is dedicated to his memory. Mr. Custer always participated in the state show, was chosen the Show Honoree in 1972, and was a consistent source of encouragement to both youth programs. Being in the livestock commission business at the Oklahoma City Stockyards for many years, Mr. Custer endeared himself to livestock producers and their families over the many years he served the livestock industry until his death in 1990. His family asked that the scholarship be developed and perpetuated to continue supporting 4-H and FFA members. To apply for this tuition scholarship, the following is required:
The essay, as well as the completed application, should be submitted no later than February 15, 2011, for judging. The essay should be no less than 300 words and no more than 400, type-written and double-spaced. Please send the application and essay to:
